I enjoy all forms of art whether that be designing larger scaled projects like the ones pictured below or painting small commissioned pieces for display. My work consists of digital art, painting, drawings, sculpture, installations, and recently body art.

Big Love; Lobby Art installation

A play by: Charles Mee

Director: Deanna Downes

Role: Art Director

An undercurrent in Charles Mee’s play Big Love, is that the women are refugees fleeing an unsafe environment and seeking refuge in a foreign, but neighboring land. This display and the set design are based around an idea to acknowledge and honor the refugee journey.

Materials: white/red t-shirts, rope, pins, needle/thread, and red dye.

Transmutation

Kierra Young-Bey

Writer, Director, Art Designer

Three women characters that will focus on aspects of the physical, spiritual, and social elements of life as black woman. They have monologues that will speak to the journey of what it means to be a black woman in this society. They will reflect the expression of unity that is created by the triangle and the monologues. Focusing on the theme of Afro-Futurism this will help elevate the environment as the women come to life to speak their truths. The women and the space around them will function as art.

Materials: UV body paint, Blacklight, pink/blue/white iridescent fabric, UV powder, CDs, spray paint, wood, acrylic paint, Blacktape Body tape, etc.
